What Are They Hiding? Schiff and the Democrats Are Running a Star Chamber

Star Chamber: An English court which sat at the royal Palace of Westminster, from the late 15th century to the mid-17th century. The Star Chamber was originally established to ensure the fair enforcement of laws against socially and politically prominent people so powerful that ordinary courts would probably hesitate to convict them of their crimes. However, it became synonymous with social and political oppression through the arbitrary use and abuse of the power it wielded. In modern usage, legal or administrative bodies with strict, arbitrary rulings and secretive proceedings are sometimes called, metaphorically or poetically, “star chambers”.

Montesquieu (1689-1755):  Experience has shown that every man who has power tends to abuse it. He will proceed until he finds the limits.

The Democrats claim to be conducting  an impeachment inquiry against Trump. That is not what is going on. An impeachment inquiry begins only when the House of Representatives calls for a majority vote to open an impeachment inquiry. That has not occurred. Nancy Pelosi has stated that the so-called impeachment inquiry will not be submitted for a vote in Congress.

That’s all we need to know to see clearly what is really going on. It’s just another witch hunt no different from the several preceding with hunts, all of which fizzled. So far, every attempt to drive Trump from office has failed. After each failure they simply move on to something else with hopes that this time they’ll get him.

So far, it’s been a snipe hunt. It’s different from a snipe hunt only in its Star Chamber like secrecy.

Having failed at all previous efforts they’ve decided that innuendo, aspersion and slurs leaking out of secret proceedings will ultimately do the trick for them. We’ll see.

A few House Republicans are finally showing a little backbone. We were beginning to wonder if they had one.

What are they hiding? Top Republicans demand secret Democrat impeachment docs

The House Judiciary Committee’s top Republican member is demanding that top Democrats allow him see investigation information that has been kept secret from other members of Congress and the American people.

In a trio of Friday afternoon letters to the Democratic chairs of the three committees conducting the House’s impeachment investigation — Intelligence, Oversight, and Foreign Affairs — House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Doug Collings, R-Ga., said that he intends to use a House rule to get access to impeachment materials that have thus far only been made available to members of those panels.

The secrecy of the three committees’ investigation has drawn an immense amount of criticism from GOP lawmakers this week.

On Monday, Judiciary Committee member Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., was kicked out of an impeachment deposition because he wasn’t a member of one of the three panels doing the investigation.

“To exclude Members of Congress from hearings confirms the American people’s suspicions: This is not a legitimate ‘impeachment inquiry’ — it is a charade,” Gaetz told Blaze Media in a statement. “Blocking Members of Congress from attending ‘impeachment’ hearings is not only unfair, it runs counter to our Democracy. The perpetrators of this impeachment hoax must be held accountable — both by the Congress, and by the American people.”

Democracy dies in darkness…where have we heard that before? From Democrats, of course.

I think I know why they are keeping it all a secret. It’s because they don’t really have anything. Why else would they be doing this? If they had anything to sustain their propaganda they’d be shouting it to the roof tops. Why don’t they submit it for a vote in Congress? There is actually no impeachment until Congress declares it by a simple majority. So why don’t they submit it for a vote? Same reason, they don’t have the votes. This whole thing is a sham.

I predict this charade won’t work any better than all the ones they’ve already tried.
