Is socialism the necessary step to enable people to appreciate capitalism?

Will you give up capitalism for socialism?

If the wackos that think socialism would be good idea ever get what they want they will wonder what happened to all the things they used to take for granted. Those are the things that capitalism makes possible for everyone willing to work. Under socialism all will either be gone or very hard to get, probably requiring membership it an exclusive club of the ruling class.

The would be socialists are fond of reminding us how important it is to be inclusive of everyone. Socialism is very inclusive because it includes everyone who is not in the ruling class. The bosses are equal in their own way. Equally comfortable. Everyone not lucky enough to be one of the rulers will also be equal. Equally miserable, that is.

Ilhan Omar doesn’t seem to be very happy in America. Is capitalism the problem? If so, perhaps she’ll be happier with socialism, after it makes America resemble her home country of Somalia.

“CAIR was founded after 9/11, because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.” — Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., in remarks to a Council on American-Islamic Relations banquet, Woodland Hills, California, March 23, 2019.

Huh? Something? 2,900 dead innocent people, something? She doesn’t even get the date right for the founding of CAIR which came into existence several decades earlier as an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the Islam equivalent of the Ku Klux Klan.

America has been very good to Omar. Ingratitude is, or should be, a cardinal, unforgivable sin.

Ammo GrrrlI at Powerline:

I have just returned from my human-sized family grocery, Bashas, where I was able to find – at insanely-reasonable prices – such exotic goods as parsnips, papaya, bananas from Honduras, watermelon from Mexico, sweet onions from Hawaii, and pink grapes from Peru. The Kings of Europe had never tasted any of these things. Parsnips, maybe.

If I want another cup of coffee, I go to my Keurig, spin the little cup carousel to select which brand I want – we even have a separate decaf carousel for those who prefer a pointless beverage – press a button, and in less than a minute have a pretty good cup of coffee.

Read the whole thing, it’s very good.

Maybe under socialism we can all live like those Kings of centuries ago. More likely, we’ll live as their subjects lived.
