Is it 1968 all over again?

With the brutal slaying of five Dallas police officers along with another seven wounded you can find on the internet this morning many voices asking if we are back to 1968 again. For those not alive then and with no memory of it, this may be confusing.

1968 was a horrible year for America. The Viet Nam War was at its zenith; Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy were assasinated; college campuses across America were on fire with student protests; The Chicago Democrat Convention saw a war like insurrection from such groups as the Weather Underground; Obama’s pals Bill Ayers and Bernarndine Dohrn was bombing banks and robbing armored cars in furtherance to their goal of “the destruction of imperialism, the seizure of power, and the creation of socialism,” as Ayers said in his book, Prairie Fire; 1968 was the year that Martin Luther King’s Dream that his “children would someday be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin” effectively ended and was replaced by the “Black Power” movement. That movement lives today under the name “Black Lives Matter.”

2016 may be looking a lot like 1968 but this time there is an important difference.

Michael Walsh:

The difference between today and 1968, however, is that the American government is on the side of the radicals; nothing that is happening now is happening by chance. President Obama, the first anti-American president, has expressly set in motion many of the conflicts besetting us, including exacerbating racial tensions whenever he gets the chance. The astounding, in-your-face corruption of the political process has given us the unholy Hillary Clinton — the very embodiment of that corruption — and her antithesis, Donald Trump. Polls show that Americans have completely lost faith in the institutions of government; the police are reeling from the Ferguson Effect, and yesterday events in Dallas are only likely to worsen things.

As per his usual, Barack Obama is blaming the Dallas murders on “powerful weapons” and downplaying the pathology of the barbarian savages aiming the guns and pulling the triggers. He said, “We also know that when people are armed with powerful weapons, it makes shootings like this more deadly and more tragic, and we’ll have to consider that in the days ahead.”  This is a pathetic demonstration of Obama dancing in the blood of dead and wounded police officers in hopes of advancing a sick political agenda. These shooters were specifically trying to kill white police officers. It was all about the shocking level of black crime in America and black racism against white police officers. It had nothing to do with the guns they used. I’d bet dollars to donut holes that when this is all figured out the shooters will turn out to be persons who were already prohibited by Federal law from possessing firearms. That was the least significant law they broke this morning. Laws simply do not stop such people. The laws do allow us to prosecute them and send them to prison so Obama and his ilk can claim that their incarceration is racist.

Incidentally, the facts are not yet in on the St. Anthony, Minnesota police shooting of Philando Castile. The police officer has been identified. His name is Jeronimo Yanez.

UPDATE 10:18 Mountain Time:  Black Power Group claims responsibility for Dallas Police killings and warns of more assassinations to come. This could be a hoax, however. It was reported in the Mirror of London but they got from a Facebook page claiming to represent a black power group. It may not be reliable.   It was a hoax on a Facebook page which has since been taken down.
