Current deficits of the Obama Era

flipping_the_bird_cropFiscal years, ending September 30:

Barack Obama
2013 — $680.276 billion
2012 — $1.089193 trillion
2011 — $1.296791 trillion
2010 — $1.294204 trillion
2009 — $1.415724 trillion

Those 5 years represent the largest annual deficits in U.S. history with one exception. In 1943, in the midst of World War II, the deficit was $738 billion, in inflation-adjusted 2013 dollars. World War II was obviously a pretty good excuse for running a large deficit. Americans were defending their liberty, their way of life, as well as the liberty of a lot of other people around the world.

What national emergency justifies the Obama deficits? None, is the answer. So why is this happening? Simple. We have a president who is bent on reshaping America into a socialist utopia with one-party rule. No price is too high to pay for that, in his mind. The American people, those alive today and others for generations to come, are being forced to pay for their own future enslavement. That’s not hyperbole, and “enslavement” is not too strong a word. Socialist utopias as so contrary to human nature they can only be sustained by a totalitarian police state.

By the way, socialist utopias are utopian only for the ruling class. For everyone else, it’s a dystopian existence.

George W. Bush
2008 — $454.798 billion, the largest during the Bush administration.  Nothing to brag about but certainly not in Obama territory.
