This is the conventional definition of fascism:
“Totalitarian in that it views everything as political and holds that any action by the state is justified to achieve the common good. It takes responsibility for all aspects of life, including our health and well-being, and seeks to impose uniformity of thought and action [Gleichschaltung], whether by force or through regulation and social pressure.”
For Mussolini fascism was all that and more. Mussolini’s fascism rejected anything that lifted the individual. Fascism to Mussolini was revolutionary, rejecting all that came before. Thus Mussolini hated capitalism, socialism, communism all as failed doctrines that lacked sufficient deference to an all-powerful, all-consuming state.
Mussolini’s fascism made no allowance for individualism outside the state to exist. The State is all-embracing; outside of it no human or spiritual values can exist, much less have value. No criticism of the state is allowed, no questioning of anything the state desires to do or not do is tolerated. Thus, trade unions and political parties are not allowed to exist.
Under fascism there cannot be any sort of diversity, whether racial, spiritual or intellectual. Everyone believes the same nutbag stuff, worships the same god (the god of abortion currently), thinks the same way about everything, hates the same enemies with the same intensity. Sameness is the watch word of fascism.
Hitler admired Mussolini’s fascsim and sought to duplicate it in Germany with slight changes. It was Italian fascism’s disdain for the idea of permanent peace that most interested Hitler. He saw it a blessing for Naziism. Peace was an illusion. War was the real thing. Conquer was always a necessary goal. Any man who desires peace if of little use to a fascist state.
Fascism is a totalitarian state on stilts.
Does the Democrat hard left faction resemble the sort of fascism of Mussolini and Hitler? Lest you think it nonsense to even suggest, notice the hatred the Democrats now have for anyone who questions or refuses to align themselves to the new state they are trying to create. Their goal is to remove Trump from office by any means necessary. They wanted Hillary Clinton to be the next president because she would have embraced their desire for a state that views everything as political.
A group of high school boys wearing “Make America Great Again” hats infuriated them. Many took to Twitter with death threats. This is the sort of splenetic hatred fascism thrives on.
The attack on the Covington boys is just one incident among many similar episodes from the looting and burning of the Antifa movement to Kathy Griffin’s grotesque act of holding up an object made to look like Trump’s bloody severed head. At every turn Trump and his base of conservatives are called racists and bigots by people whose epithets more describe them than Trump and his loyal base of supporters.
