Fascism is totalitarian in that it views everything as political and holds that any action by the state is justified to achieve the common good. It takes responsibility for all aspects of life, including our health and well-being, and seeks to impose uniformity of thought and action [Gleichschaltung], whether by force or through regulation and social pressure.
What is the difference between conservatives and other ordinary people and the Fascist bastards on the Left? Conservatives and other ordinary people want free speech and the Fascist bastards on the Left call it hate speech and stage violent protests to try to make conservatives and other ordinary people “shut up!”
We aren’t going to shut up. We are going to exercise our right to speak. If the Fascist bastards on the Left don’t like it, they don’t have to listen. Free speech only means we can speak our mind. We don’t claim to have the right to make anyone listen, we don’t claim to have the right to use force against anybody not using force against us.
The Fascist bastards on the Left are not interested in our ideas because ours are better than theirs and they know that. So they have to shut us up, or they will lose the battle of ideas.
Bill Whittle says it all very well:
