Antifa and BLM attack on Senator Hawley’s home was an assault

A simple third degree assault occurs when someone strikes fear in another person that he or she may imminently be attacked and suffer physical harm. When attacked it may become a first or second degree assault and battery.

Senator Hawley was not at home when Antifa/BLM thugs went to his home and started verbally attacking his wife and small child with bull horns. When they began banging on the front door Hawley’s wife had every reason to believe they were about to break down the door and enter the house. This had to have put her in fear that she and her young child were about to be attacked and mauled. That is an assault which is at least a misdemeanor but more likely to be a felony, depending upon state law.

In most states a third degree Assault is defined as any intentional act that causes another person to fear that he or she is about to suffer physical harm. Placing another person in fear of imminent bodily harm is an assault even if the victim of the assault is not physically harmed.

Given that Antifa/BLM thugs have a history of physically beating people, setting fires to buildings, and looting stores and other establishments, Senator Hawley’s wife had every reason to belief the thugs would break down the door to her house and physically harm her and her child. The threat to Mrs. Hawley and to her child means that two separate assaults occurred, one against each of two people.

All of the thugs should be arrested and prosecuted. Of course, we know that won’t happen because the thugs are protected by the Democrat party. If a gang of Republicans ever engaged in this sort of behavior all would be arrested, jailed and prosecuted.

Thanks to blue state governors, prosecutors and mayors, our beloved country, once the land of the free and home of the brave, has become a sanctuary for criminal gangs.

Police reportedly did not think that a small protest that happened outside the Vienna, Virginia home of Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.)on Monday night was “that big of a deal,” describing the protest as “peaceful” despite the senator insisting that “Antifa scumbags” had been “terrorizing” his family.

The police are wrong here. If this had truly been a peaceful protest by a group with no record of violence, perhaps it would not have been so threatening to Hawley’s wife. But Antifa’s reputation is not that of a peaceful protest group. It is best known for thuggery and battery against innocent persons minding their own business. That is what made it an assault. That is what justified Mrs. Hawley’s fear of imminent harm.
