The Declaration of Independence listed 30 specific grievances against King George III. One of the rights guaranteed in the First Amendment is the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Donald Trump has had success exploiting a current list of grievances the American people have with Obama, the ruling class Democrats, and the Republican establishment. The latter has offered no political opposition to the rampant and radical leftism Obama has thrust on the American people. He has done so by governing against the will of the majority. Republicans have shamelessly stood by and done nothing. In some instances, such as with the recent omnibus budget deal, they have even helped Obama and the Democrats advance a Leftist agenda. Republicans it seems have been paralyzed by fear of false racist allegations.
Ironically, the current list also enumerates 30 specific grievances.
Many Americans are fed up with the following:
Anyone named Bush
Anyone named Clinton
Anyone who’s held political office
Phony “official” unemployment and inflation figures
People faking disabilities to go on the dole
VA waiting lists
The Federal Reserve’s money printing schemes
Wall Street Crooks
Michelle Obama’s vacations
Michelle Obama’s food police
Barack Obama’s golf
Barack Obama’s arrogant and condesending lectures
Barack Obama’s disparagement of America
Global warming/climate change nonsense
Gun confiscation threats
Boys and men in girls’ bathrooms
Whiny, spoiled college students who can’t even place the Civil War in the correct century
These are the grievances that explain Trump’s success so far. Hillary and the GOPe can’t make this go away. They can’t defeat Trump with more empty promises. Marco Rubio is not going to be the savior that makes us forget why we’re angry with the Obama agenda and want it stopped. The GOPe reneged on its promises and will not be forgiven anytime soon.
Trump, however, is currently distracted with his war against Ted Cruz. I believe Cruz should attack Trump’s flank by focusing on this list of grievances and driving home the point that Trump may deserve credit for noticing what the people want and are upset about but he’s presently asleep at the wheel in his preoccupation with insulting his Republican rivals. He seems to have forgotten that the real enemies are Obama, Hillary Clinton and the GOP establishment, which now appears to include Marco Rubio.
