Obama set to deal death blow to the U.S. economy with new EPA regulations

New EPA rule would seek to cut carbon emissions be 30% by 2030

The Obama administration will seek to cut greenhouse gas emissions from existing power plants 30% from 2005 levels by 2030, potentially one of the biggest steps any country has taken to confront climate change, people familiar with the plan said Sunday.

Seen as the linchpin of President Obama’s climate campaign and a key part of his domestic policy legacy, the proposed power plant rule would set state-specific targets for carbon dioxide reductions and let local officials decide how best to meet the goals.

The proposal by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is intended to limit air pollution by carbon dioxide, a gas that traps heat in the atmosphere and drives global warming.

Obama’s new regulations will make sense to you if you believe all of the following:

1. Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the primary greenhouse gas that controls the earth’s climate,

2. The earth’s climate is changing because the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is increasing, and

3. Through the burning of fossil fuels humans are responsible for the increase in CO2.

If you believe none of those three things [I sure don’t] then this latest Obama proposal makes no sense to you because it will send electricity prices through the roof, deal a death blow to the U.S. economy, and will achieve nothing.

It will be all bad, and none of it good for anybody except…Well, I suggest you read this piece by Dr. Roy Spencer to see who will benefit from these regulations, and for why I believe everything you’ve heard about CO2 emissions is silly, please read, How much does carbon dioxide contribute to global warming?
