Milton Wolf, M.D. (second cousin of Obama on Obama’s mother’s side) is mounting a primary challenge to Republican Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas in the same manner as Richard Mourdock did to deliver a primary defeat to Indiana Senator Richard Lugar in 2012. That is, Wolf says Roberts doesn’t live in Kansas. His permanent residence is in Virginia, he doesn’t even have a place to stay that he either owns or rents on those rare occasions when he visits Kansas. According to Roberts’ own staff, When in Kansas he stays with a friend, and sleeps in his friend’s recliner.
This is good. It’s always the right thing to get rid of a beltway Republican who, in my view, do way more harm to the conservative cause than any liberal Democrat could ever do. Mourdock successfully challenged beltway Republican Richard Lugar and conservatives can be thankful for that. Unfortunately, Mourdock got suckered Todd Akin-like in the U.S. Senate debate and talked himself into an abortion/rape controversy. His comment that a rape child is a gift from God sunk him and he lost the general election. To my lights, he did conservatism a service by getting rid of Richard Lugar, but he is a solid conservative who could have done many more good deeds in the Senate if he had been more wary of the slimy questions used by the Left to get Republicans to put their foot in their mouths.
Here’s hoping Milton Wolf won’t allow himself to get snared on some baloney question from a reporter and lay an egg on his chances to win both the primary and the general. Soundly conservative, wolf has Tea Party support. This is his radio attack ad on Pat Roberts. It’s pretty good.
