Demographers tell us the time is coming when there will be no liberals, or at least very few of them. This is because secular liberals have the lowest birth rates and the highest rates of never marrying and never reproducing, and having abortions if they do manage to reproduce.  They’re dying out. Conservatives and religious evangelicals are having babies and reproducing like mad, especially religious evangelicals.  It’s going to take several decades though.  I’m too old to ever see these new demographic results.  Damn.

Wait, there is one way I and others who would  like to see this change might be able to do it.  If we could find a space ship that would us take out into space at the speed of light for say, one year, then turn around and spend one year bringing us back to earth at the same speed, we would be only 2 years older, but the earth would be many decades, perhaps centuries, older.  That’s because time stops at the speed of light.

Of course, nothing with mass can ever attain the speed of light since mass increases as an object approaches the speed of light, finally to an infinite number.  It therefore would take infinite energy to propel me at the speed of light, and I can barely run a 12-minute mile.  But if a space ship could move me along at just half the speed of light I’d get enough of a jump into the future upon return to earth to spend the rest of my days in a peaceful world with no liberals, or at least not enough of them to make everything as crazy as it is now.

I’d have to take Mrs. TeeJaw, our two cats and every friend we want to keep with us though.  Otherwise they’d all be dead of old age when we returned.  If we took friends that have a terminal illness with us and if they could manage to survive until we got back there would probably be medical advances and cures available for them.
