One of the dumbest answers, but not the dumbest, in the debate.

During Tuesday’s debate, there came a question on firearms. “President Obama,” a moron undecided voter inquired, “during the Democratic National Convention in 2008, you stated you wanted to keep AK-47s out of the hands of criminals. What has your administration done or planned to do to limit the availability of assault weapons?”

The dumb answer was, in part:  ”I also share your belief that weapons that were designed for soldiers in war theaters don’t belong on our streets.”

Well, I have to agree.  These weapons belong in your safe, or at least in your closet or in your automobile, safely stowed so unauthorized persons cannot access them.  They certainly should not be left lying around on the street.

By the way, there is no such thing as an “assault weapon” until it has been used to assault someone.  A rolling pin is an assault weapon if used to hit someone over the head, but only that particular rolling pin is an assault weapon and only in the hands of the person who committed the assault.  The millions of other rolling pins that are not being used to bang someone on the head are just baking tools.

Next and soon, the very dumbest answer Obama gave in the debate.
