This is a paraphrase of what I heard George Gilder say on a podcast I was listening to today during a 500-mile road trip:

The break up of the family means that we will need a welfare state to care for the women and children and a police state to handle the men.

The podcast was an interview of Gilder by Peter Robinson on Gilder’s new edition of Wealth and Poverty.

Feminists will be outraged with the first part of Gilder’s statement, but they’ll probably love the second part.
