But if he is so smart why does he lapse into stock phrases when he doesn’t have a teleprompter? It’s like he can’t think of what to say, and he doesn’t know how to start a conversation. Wouldn’t a smart guy come up with something original once in a while, and tailor his rhetoric to the specific person or thing that he’s talking to or about? If you know someone whose speech consists of the same worn-out phrases applied to widely different topics, do you associate that with high intelligence? No, in fact you find that person dull.

Obama sounds like a tape recorder when he doesn’t have a teleprompter, and a Danish TV commentator has taken notice of Obama’s…what, Asperger’s syndrome?

If worn out stock phrases in conversation are a theme in Obama rhetoric, so are worn-out unfulfilled campaign promises — it’s deja vu all over again:

You may have heard him promise to end America’s dependence on foreign oil. He can’t mean that we will drill for our own oil and no longer need foreign oil because he has blocked the Keystone pipeline, issued a moratorium on drilling in the gulf of Mexico, shut down drilling on Federal lands in the U.S., and he’s sending money to Mexico and Brazil to help them finance more drilling on their land. So how’s he going to get us off foreign oil? Well, he probably doesn’t intend to, he just wanted to say it to may us feel good enough to vote for him. If he does mean it he plans to do it by shifting us to wind and solar energy for electricity to charge our Chevy Volts. Since wind and solar is unreliable and even doesn’t produce much energy when it is working, we’ll probably be lucky to get one charge every 6 months that will be good for 40 miles or so, but by gum it will get us off foreign oil. What will Brazil and Mexico do with all he oil they’re going to have if they can’t sell it to us? All that money Obama is giving them came from U.S. taxpayers so I guess we already paid for it, but they get to keep the money and sell the oil again to someone else, probably China. Obama’s world in 2016 if he’s reelected.
