I wonder if he’s 1/32 Cherokee?
Here’s part of what he said in Roanoke, VA Friday night:
…look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Applause.)
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
He’s an idiot.
A more likely scenario is that you had a business that you built and it has recently failed and put you out of business, and somebody else made that happen. That somebody else who made your business fail is Barack Obama.
Check out today’s Wall Street Journal on the “Shale Gas Secret”:
What has given the U.S. its edge is that the early development risks were largely borne by small-time entrepreneurs, drilling a lot of dry holes on private land. These “wildcat” developers were gradually able to buy up oil, gas and mineral leases from private owners while gathering enough geological data to bring in commercial producers.
Who is making the shale gas boom happen, Mr. Obama? Hmmm. It’s sure not you. You’re the one throwing roadblocks in the way. You’re the one trying to stop it from happening.
