Pat Caddell is my favorite Democrat. That’s a bit like a Hatfield telling you which of the McCoy’s is his favorite, but Pat Caddell is a Democrat that would be difficult for any conservative not to like. That’s because he’s cynical, grumpy, irascible, humorous and smart. His opinions are sharp but insightful and usually prove correct. His facts are reliable. What’s not to like? So when Caddell says Tom Donilon is a political hack who should never have been given a serious post such as National Security Advisor, and that Donilon is the source of all the national security leaks, I believe it. The leaks are clearly coming from the Obama administration and are designed to help Obama in the November election by making him appear tough, and thus look good to those voters who may worry about national security. This is just the sort of thing Pat Caddell is qualified to speak on because he has seen from the inside of the Democrat party just how much far politicians are willing to go to win an election. Even it if hurts the country that’s okay so long as it helps them, or so long as they think it helps them.
